The Winter months aren't challenging with the right approach, but our challenge at the moment is establishing our consistency. We all have those days when it feels like a real struggle to get going. The weather may not be as warm, or it may have rained overnight, and the temptation is there to stay in bed. The danger here is that this becomes a habit really quickly and before we know it we are off track, and have gone backwards in our wellbeing goals over Winter. Focus now establishes your routines and pays enormous dividends down the track. Don't give in to the temptation to stay in bed!!

One of my challenges is always to make sure that we are maintaining what we do as a group, keeping equipment up to date and having trainers to work with us. There's been a little bit of a drop off in numbers of late, which has impacted the capacity to do that, so please be mindful of anyone that you think may want to get along to training to join in the fun! As an incentive, if you refer anyone who signs up, you'll receive your next month free of charge! What are you waiting for??

This weekend sees us head to Becky and John's place for a fun evening of wine tasting and friendship (not necessarily in that order), and I'm looking forward to reporting on the evening in next weeks newsletter! If you haven't yet, please make sure you've transferred your $20 (see the Whatsapp group) so John and Becky know you're coming along. This money will cover the cost of the wine you'll drink, the food you'll eat and the awesome hospitality you'll receive!

Tomorrow morning is with Poppy, so get your weekend started on the right foot with one of Poppy's super challenging yet fun sessions!

If you've been struggling to hit training goals then I recommend a close look at what you're wanting to achieve. Goals should be easy to check off if we've been struggling a bit. One way to do this is to consider training on Monday (get one out of the way early) and then one later in the week (Thursday, or Friday). If early starts have been a challenge then a Saturday session could be the way to go as it's a 7am start and you won't need to be rushing off to work.

Once you've established those patterns then adding an extra session during the week becomes a little easier. Establishing consistency in what we do is always important. From a training perspective it means you're maintaining levels of fitness and strength. It also means that you're less likely to give it up during Winter months when the weather presents more of a challenge. Winter will be upon us before we know it, and we want to be able to keep what we do going as a lot of backsliding can happen during three months of inconsistent or even no training.

There's been quite a few away over the last couple of weeks so our numbers have been a little on the low side, but over the next couple of weeks lots of people will be returning so the atmosphere at training will be more conducive to showing up and working hard. Make the most of it to get your fitness goals on track!

Don't forget that there's still time to register for our wine tasting evening at Becky and John's. We'll need to finalise numbers soon so of you haven't completed the form to let us know you're coming, then please do so asap. Here's the link to register:

John will then be in touch to let us know more details about the evening. There will be a small charge which will cover all our wines and food. It will be a really good evening so please don't forget to register if you haven't already.

Poppy will take the Saturday session tomorrow, so get along for the perfect start to your weekend at Balmain at 7am.

Finally a week with no rain! We even had the grass cut at Ballast Point...! It's all happening! We just need Sydney Council now to get in there and give Bicentennial Park a trim! That way Rich won't need to do it!

There's a few important reminders this week, so I'll get straight to it....

Firstly, the link for booking in for the Cocktail Masterclass was sent out last night, via text message. Please check your messages from me and make sure you get in quickly to book for this as spots are limited. The price includes the food, the cocktails (which of course you get to drink!) and the instructor who's coming along to teach us. It's going to be a great night, so please make sure you've reserved your place.

Secondly, as of next week there will be 2 new sessions coming in to the schedule, which I strongly encourage you to try out. Lucy will be adding Functional Strength and Conditioning to our program. She'll be focusing on building base strength which will allow for greater performance during training, toning and stability in your movement. As I mentioned last week, she'll be kicking this session off with a brand new and exciting piece of equipment, which I know you will love.

Lastly, a reminder to make sure we are replying to messages on the weekend. Please try to get back to my Sunday text asap, as I often have the car loaded up by the time the evening hits, based on numbers I've received. We came close to not having enough equipment on Monday, so please make sure that you get your text responses back as quickly as possible to check in for the week. It doesn't just help me to plan for the week, but, more importantly, it helps you to be focused on what you're doing to hit your training goals.

On that note, I'll bid you adieu for now. I'll be at Ballast Point tomorrow morning for a 7am session... Get there and get your weekend off to a great start!
